Welcome to my chemistry pages. There's not much here at the moment, but I'll be adding more soon. Back to Charles' Home Page.

A little about me for those of you who are interested:

I am currently a graduate student in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Oxford. I work in the Central Chemistry Laboratory (CCL) under Dr Veronique Gouverneur (group pages). I also carried out my undergraduate degree in Oxford, carrying out my Part II in the Dyson Perrins Laboratory under Dr Josephine Peach. I carried out a small research project for my Part I under Dr Jeremy Robertson. My college tutors were Professor Steve Davies (organic), Dr Tony Cox (Inorganic and Physical), Dr Peter Dickens (Inorganic, retired) and Dr Frank Marken (Physical, now in Loughborough). I was given maths tutorials by Dr Chris Timmel and organometallic chemistry tutorials by Dr Victor Christou.

The Chemistry department in Oxford is the largest in the western world. It has a large and resourceful web site, which can be accessed here. A number of resources are available here (some are only accessible for people in Oxford); Chemistry Online is one of the central resource pages. There are also links to Chemistry databases and Chemistry journals. The internal web pages can be accessed from here.

Another useful site is the Cambridge Chemical Calculations site, which includes a periodic table, a molecular weight calculator, a molecular formula search (find a formula from an HRMS mass) and a synthesis calculator amongst other things.
