Chemistry Pages

I studied in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Oxford. I worked in the New Chemistry Laboratory/Central Chemistry Laboratory (NCL/CCL) and the Chemistry Research Lab (CRL) under Dr Veronique Gouverneur (group pages). I also carried out my undergraduate degree in Oxford, carrying out my Part II in the Dyson Perrins Laboratory under Dr Josephine Peach. I carried out a small research project for my Part I under Dr Jeremy Robertson. My college tutors were Professor Steve Davies (organic), Dr Tony Cox (Inorganic and Physical), Dr Peter Dickens (Inorganic, retired) and Dr Frank Marken (Physical, now in Loughborough). I was given maths tutorials by Dr Chris Timmel and organometallic chemistry tutorials by Dr Victor Christou.

The Chemistry department in Oxford is one of the largest in the western world. It has a large and resourceful web site, which can be accessed here. There are also links to Chemistry databases and Chemistry journals. The internal web pages can be accessed from here.

If you are interested in buying some modern PPE dispensers, Labstract sells a range of simple dispensers that allow lab workers and visitors to easily store and retrieve safety spectacles at a convenient location and unlike existing models, will not damage spectacles through loading or by accidental release.
